“When you’re fortunate enough to live on a 13,000-square-foot property in Los Angeles, you deserve a little something extra special to help you soak it all in. This bathroom, designed by Megan Dufresne of MC Design, has just the spot to help the owner do that. Its two-person custom soaking tub from Diamond Spas @diamond_spas_co
sits 40 inches high, and the stainless steel material helps it retain heat better than standard tubs. It fills from a @Kohler ceiling spout and overlooks a lush green space outside. #CalligraphyBrushes are one of my current obsessions .... If you’re thinking, “I didn’t know she did calligraphy”, I don’t. I’ve never done #calligraphy in my entire life. 😂 .... But, I’m a sucker for beautiful #art and #design .... These #brushes come in so many beautiful colors and sizes and are the perfect #accessory no matter what style #decor you have. Here are a few of my current favorites.

Sometimes you forget how amazing something is when you see it everyday. As I was walking around our neighborhood, one of the neighbors asked which house was ours. As I began to explain, “Five houses down on the right side...”, one of the women exclaimed, “Oh! You’re the one with the landscape!” I knew immediately that she knew which house was ours. When I got to the front yard, it made me pause and smile. It really is beautiful! I love not having #grass like most of the other homes.

This is one of my favorite #art installations that I’ve done to date. It’s a series by a #Mexican #photographer that follows the same few work #trucks every day for months. He captures them from atop a bridge while they’re parked below. We hung this series of three different trucks shot on two different days in my clients office. He says it reminds him to be thankful for everything he has, and more importantly, to appreciate other cultures.

A little #designer #ProTip for today.... #DecorativeBoxes are one of the most useful and versatile #accessories in #HomeDecor - I have at least one in almost every room in my home, and I use them on all of my #design projects.... They can be used alone, stacked or with other #decor on top of them. They come in every material and color that you can imagine; #bone , lucite, mirror, wood, glass, etc., and can be used to store things like petty cash, remote controls, photos, greeting cards, or anything else that needs storing.

I wanted to share a glimpse of how most of my #VirtualDesign is being done these days.... I ask a showroom to please send me photos of all (fill in the blank) items that they have, assuming they’re not on their website - in this case it’s #Pillows - then I markup the photo of items that could potentially work and they send me back detailed images of whatever items I have selected in my marked up photo. On the off chance something may work, I send the photos to my client and hope that they like it.... If they don’t, I start again with another company. If they do, we cross our fingers and order it and pray that it will work once it arrives. If it doesn’t, we then begin the return process and it’s back to the drawing board.... I know Covid-19 has affected so many industries in so many ways, and this is one example of how it has affected designers. I am counting down the seconds to when all of the showrooms will be open again, and I’ll be happy to social distance and wear a mask, and gloves, if they ask me to.

I always tell clients that the day we buy indoor plants is when we’re actually almost done. Today is that day for a project that I’ve been working on for 3.5 years! It’s such a great feeling to wrap up a large project like this! 🙌😍

Today we worked with a 2020 high school graduate to transform her childhood bedroom into as close to a dorm room as possible. With many college students not physically attending school in the fall, on top of missing out on the important senior year milestones like prom and graduation, I can’t imagine how difficult this time must be for these kids! We were glad that we could bring a little bit of #color and happiness to one of these students today!
